Welcome to our website

The Society was formed in 1976 by Roy Baker, one time Mayor of the town. Its object is to promote the appreciation and practice of the Visual Arts. Roy was our President for many years; HRH The Prince of Wales is our current President.

Members come from Tetbury and the surrounding villages and towns and range from professional artists to self-taught improvers and beginners. We come together to share expertise in a friendly and helpful manner using various media, styles and techniques. Some of our members also meet at the village hall in Shipton Moyne on Monday afternoons.

Contact us to join or just come along to a meeting.

At present, we hold three exhibitions a year in the splendid 17th century Market House in the centre of Tetbury, the town’s focal point. Exhibitions are held on the Early May and August Bank Holidays and an Autumn Sale. See Programme for dates and Exhibitions for submission details for members.

Our programme of meetings

We meet at St Michael’s Hall, Silver Street, Tetbury on the first Wednesday of most months from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm. For more details of the venue and a map see Information.

Our year usually starts in February (because of Covid 19 this may change) with an AGM and social. Our planned activities can be found on the Programme page. Trips and outings are organised throughout the year.

Next workshop is on the 6th October 7.30pm at St Michaels Hall with Mark Kelland with experimental paint and colour.

Sherston Arts Festival 2021 is being held from the 6th November this year with an art exhibition as usual. Please go to the Sherston Arts Festival 2021 website for entry forms and details.
